A great place to stay
I visit this guest house every time as it home from home, my sons and family live here, so i come up and visit, so this is the first place i think about. Very friendly and very welcoming owners, they are only too happy to advice and help , as we are from a village outside York .on our way to Dumfries we stop off at the lamer lamer cafe for something to eat before we finish our journey to the Glenlossie Guest House – DUMFRIES
hi bud.just been to a show at Birmingham.went through late rooms they are very good and so helpful.however the hotel called the Birmingham best wasn't.on line it looks like the rit.z but it was the pitz.the carpets were disgusting.the wallpaper was hanging off the wall.wallpaper paste isn't dear or carpet cleaner.you could count the springs under us in bed.telly woudnt tune in.we were put in the attic.3 story up.if there was a fire would stand no chance.very steep stairs .maybe if fit but the guy on the desk could see I had a stick.and we are in our 70is.laterooms should check it out.ok it was cheap but that's not the point.money is hard to earn whatever you do.budget hotels group must do nothing.we never complain but I needed to oh and the electric fire was plugged into a 5 way plug darnt put it on .
I had very little difficulty finding an appropriate London hotel. The price filter on the Late Rooms site was a great help. I did not waste time ploughing through a list of hotels that were beyond my price range. I soon located a suitable one that I could afford.
We arrived there safely and fell in love with Dent straightaway. Our stay at the George and Dragon was terrible. The room was very cold (the heating was timed to come on spasmodically), which was inadequate to say the least. The bed was very uncomfortable, my partner changed sides a few times. The left hand side slopped and you found yourself slipping further towards the bedroom floor. It was very dusty. Now for the worst thing ever. The shower head was an absolute disgrace, it was covered in black fungus!!! We had one very small bottle of shower gel to be shared between us. The milk was sour. The aerial plug for the tv was just hanging out the wall. (Pictures taken). We wont be staying there again!!!!
Finding a B&B / stroke Hotel anywhere that offers smokers a room for the night is not easy.
With late rooms you can
The hotel I have booked I have been to before whilst not the Ritz at under £30 it's pure dead brilliant
One cant book in before 5PM which is a pity
This is just my second visit but if you are a leper it's not bd
Do not be fooled in to thinking these pictures refer to all rooms in this hotel, i was fooled and what a weekend we had. I was flabbergasted at the poor attitude of the managements attitude to customer complaints, no concern whatso ever.
Let me explain what I booked and why I do not rate this establishment and wouldn't recomend:
Bailgate Apartments 35 BAILGATE LINCOLN LN1 3AP
Standard Double Room for 1 person
Rooms over £50 include and English Breakfast served at the Duke William and Car Parking is available @ £5 for 24 hours.
l.There is no such place as Bailgate Apartments. There is a Bailgate Hotel, but don't confuse them. Additionally neither will house numbers help .. as they jump from 34 -to- 36 I had a moment of anxiety that I'd booked a Scammers B&B! l saw breakfast was served at the Duke of William pub (clearly visible) so I entered and asked- "surprise" this was where my reservation was!
2. After booking a double (see above )I was told was getting an upgrade to a double ?! as I'd not booked one??... rubbish I'd clearly booked just that!!
3. I was told of the process of late entry. lt seemed very secure & reassuring. they forgot to mention that it would be through back roads, a dark alley and past unlit lockups!! as a single female traveller it was another heart in mouth moment!
4. I had hopes as I walked into a fairly presentable but basic room. -. they were soon dashed when I smelt the toilet in my room!. yuck.. flushing helped! along with a Yankee Candle room spray l took
5. The windows Rattle, The heating system booms and the tv only worked on the football channel... some where there was a box that needed resetting? according to the message on the screen! why hadn't his been checked as working?
6. worst of all and unforgivable really.... there was "no hot water" -.-none either from the tap or shower ! I did report it but with no apology or aid. The man who took full payment of £60 with no hot water said "he'd have it fixed before I stayed again?" ... in this regard it had just hit rock bottom. A B&B with a blatant lack of standards, service or care - - I wouldn't stay again!!!.
Customer service and Basic's are missing here! ~ Avoid it ! Concerns abound... if hot water isn't available for paying guests?
That said . -. breakfast was well cooked ..-well done chef!
The serviced apartment I rented in Manchester was shown as £500/night REDUCED to £165 via Laterooms.com - I thought this would make a lovely night away with my partner. To stay there and pay the hotel directly would have cost somewhere between £60-90 in total. The website proved the apartment to be spacious and of high quality decor - it WAS spacious but the decor and cleanliness was of a low standard. If I had paid £60-90 I would have expected it to be of low quality but, as I paid £165 and the apartment had been 'significantly reduced' from £500, I expected high quality. Ask questions first as they now will not reimburse me my money. I have emailed Laterooms on numerous occasions in order to provide the opportunity of sorting this fairly and to avoid submitting a negative review. I was told that the serviced apartment is responsible and that I should refer to the terms and conditions. According the the serviced apartment, Laterooms is responsible. IF Laterooms had any consideration at all, somebody would look back at the emails and rectify this by reimbursing my loss. Thank you
The hotel looked lovely online, we were looking forward to our stay. The 'Hotel' sign outside at the top of the front of the hotel had only 2 letters which were lit up, which is not a good sign for a first impression. The room we were given the first night, although was clean was not in the best condition, enamel was chipped off the bath, the grout in the tiles was very dirty, and the bed had been wet several times by previous visitors, and smelled horrendous, which we didn't find out until we were in it. After a 12 hour drive to get there we did not complain that night, but we did next morning. We were told if we packed our things we would be moved to another room while we were out. We had spent the day at a family funeral and were quite late back again. By then our clothes which we'd unpacked in the first room were crushed by sitting in the case all day, there is an iron in the room, but we were too tired and had we been given a suitable room to begin with they would have been hanging as they had been after we arrived. The bed in the second room was cleaner, but squeeked every time you moved to turn over. There was only one pillow per person, so this did not help add comfort to our night. The breakfast was very good and well presented. Overall we would not choose to stay at a Novotel again after this experience.
We arrived at the Travel Lodge in York at 3pm to check in, to find out that they had no record of our booking as it had not been received from Late Rooms. Thankfully, the receptionist was very helpful and they were able to fit us in as there was one room spare.
The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good value for money.
I found LateRooms.com online while searching for a holiday, they are so easy to deal with and easy to understand. No problems at all, explained about payments, etc.
I would suggest you give them a try next time you are thinking of looking for somewhere to stay.
on first sight it looked like bates hotel on alfred hitchcock. A coat of paint on entrance wouldnt go amiss. But must say family room was lovely and clean. Wouldnt book again as i said you get what you pay for. Was going to have breakfast but was put off on first apperances.
The room was very basic and dated. No air conditioning. The bed was very uncomfortable. A kettle, which incidentally was gross, was provided along with 2 cups. no coffee, tea, milk or sugar though which was disappointing. The breakfast was adequate but could have done with some fruit/yogurts etc. Not much to choose from. Overall I wouldn't stay here again. The hotel seriously needs a revamp! Not worth the 3 star rating they currently have.
I have booked a holiday before in Manchester through LateRooms which is such an easy way to find hotels and to book a holiday. I can recommend booking a holiday with LateRooms.
The apartment I wanted to book was nearly full so was given a number to call. The person I spoke to, called Zayn, was clearly spoken and friendly. He put me on hold for a couple of minutes whilst he rang the apartments to confirm availability. Process was very quick and professional and the confirmation email arrived before I'd even put down the handset!
Have used late rooms a couple of times before and never had any problems so was confident in using them again. Hadn't used the call centre before but was pleased to hear an English accent, nothing more frustrating than a foreign call centre and details getting lost in translation!
We were booked in to stay at the Woodleigh hotel in Blackpool this weekend - for one night - Saturday 19th October. As we run a farm & a holiday let ourselves it is really really rare we get chance to get away so this weekend was really important to us. The room was to cost us £80 for the room and breakfast for the 4 of us. Apparently the owner of this hotel had rung your customer service line repeatedly over the past few weeks prior to our arrival to tell you their internet was down due to work and therefore not to allow bookings via your site as they are not receiving the information through. 3 other families including us turned up for the same family room as your website had allowed multiple bookings of the same allocation. This is clearly a fault via your booking system to allow multiple bookings & not anything to do with the hotels internet being down but there is obviously also the issue that you had clearly not followed their wishes & stopped anyone booking via your site temporarily too. All families had apparently done what we had done - booked via yourselves, had the confirmation through, thought we had secured a room booking (as you would), then turned up at the establishment to be told there is no room. This is seriously bad considering we had travelled with young children (aged 3 & 5 years old). The only other available family room at that point in time was the horrifically expensive Blackpool football club - instead of costing us the £80 we had budgeted for, the room there cost us £236 - for one night. It was either that, or go home. This turned what should have been a really enjoyable weekend into a really expensive nightmare for us. The owner at the Woodleigh tried to also find us alternative accommodation but to no avail. She was also really upset as clearly this is not great for their business reputation. What a shambles. I am really glad as a holiday let ourselves we are not on your books!
i went on net to look for a room in preston to visit friends who we met on holiday and laterooms popped up,it could not have been any easier booking through them, got an instant email back stating our reservation, and the rest is history, cant wait for our visit.would recommend them without hesitation.
LateRooms.com never notified the motel I booked in!! I traveled 4000 miles for a trade show only to find there was no record of my room being booked!!! LateRooms NEVER notified them!! We ended up staying 30km outside of the area because all rooms were booked in the area due to the show! Very costly in cabs over the weekend! And laterooms also charged $40 for breakfast when it was included in the motel cost!!! Totally unacceptable and unprofessional! WILL NEVER USE LATEROOMS AGAIN!!!! Would rather sleep in a field than give them my business!!!
After a slight problem with the post code, arrived the hotel, to be welcomed by a very
nice and helpful lady, who explained everything about the hotel then we were taken the our room. The room was very nice , very clean and cosy. The only problem I had was with bed it was a little bit too low. we had a good nights sleep and the next morning
we went down to breakfast to find a great array of food on offer, we were served with tae and coffee and may I say some of the hottest toast I have ever had. My wife had the full English breakfast, which was fantastic and I had the Italian Breakfast which was different and also very good. being a head chef myself, I don't get away on nights like this, very much but I will be coming back soon.
Kind Regards, John and Sylvia Mathers.
Went there with the girlfriend for a romantic weekend break and found it better than any previous hotel. Friendly staff and quiet, had the superior suite and found the room to be exactly what we hoped for. would have said thank you to staff but unfortunately reception was shut when we were leaving :( was amazing :).
This is the 2nd time within 2 weeks i've booked with laterooms.com and cannot fault them at all. They found what i was looking for at amazing prices..Couldn't find hotel any cheaper on other websites.Customer service is second to none..I would definately highly recommend them to all family and friends..I will definately be using them again for my next break..
I get an email reminding me I've booked for the hotel and the date, in three days time. I'm invited to "resend confirmation". This makes me nervous that if I don't do that I won't be booked. I enter my phone number, email and date of arrival. It tells me "No bookings have been found for the details you entered. Check your details and try again." The details are correct. Do I have a booking or don't I?
Hotel Windows are single glazed which meant i could here the work men and people passing outside all night, very poor for a town centre, hardly got any asleep, good job i was awake really, as the receptionist knocked on my door at 7am to ask me to move my car for the work men, even though I had been told where to park when I checked In.
Would have asked for a refund at reception when checking out but there was 4 or 5 staff members surrounding the desk discussing there personal lives! bit unproffesional
Certainly wouildnt stay at this hotel again, and have serious doubts about the company! Other residents were saying the noise was bad! this was a tuesday, wouldnt like to stay there at weekend!
I was told by late rooms no money would be taken from my account on booking this hotel, within 24 hours full amount was taken then I saw there was no on site parking, so we had no choose but to go, but once there I didn't like what I saw the windows was filthy so didn't dare imagine what the rest of the hotel was like, but the young gent on front desk was a very nice chap, he agreed to give us all our money back so we could look for another hotel to stay, he also said the full amount should not be taken only a deposit, but who was responsible I don't know.
Great experience no problems with site or booking.
